Introducing Attica Chiropractor, Dr. Gary Schaaf

Dr. Gary Schaaf, Attica chiropractor.

"I didn’t experience a miracle myself, but I have seen plenty of them in chiropractic."  Having a Father and Mother that are chiropractors, I grew up in their office witnessing miracle after miracle occurring right before my own eyes, it was incredible.  It was then that I decided I wanted to help people experience what I was experiencing, “chiropractic miracles” so I started my journey in chiropractic.

Dr. Schaaf began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Toledo and  Eastern Iowa where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology,  along with basic physiology and anatomy.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa the same college that his parents graduated from twenty five years earlier.  During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinics.  After graduating in 1991 Dr. Schaaf returned to his home town of Attica, Ohio to join his parents in practice.

"I love teaching people about their body and how it self heals and regulates to the environment we put it in.  I also enjoy watching people get well and stay well without the use of drugs or surgery.  The most incredible feeling is when a new mother hands her new born over to be checked, the confidence they place in me and the infants body to stay well is over whelming."

Dr. Schaaf is single and lives with his dog Titus, a high energy Shitz Tzu.  He enjoys travel, riding his bike, working out, singing in his church praise team, cooking, and any outdoor or sport related event.

Dr. Schaaf works out on a regular basis, eats a diet of whole and organic foods and meditates daily preparing his mind to be a great healer and spiritual human being.  He was raised in a chiropractic life style of no medication or vaccinations and has continued this practice still today.  “I have never had even as much as an aspirin or received a vaccination”, Dr. Schaaf contributes this lifestyle to his years of excellent health.

Dr. Gary Asks some important questions of interest to Attica residents - Chiropractor Attica Dr. Gary Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
